Offshore Systems’ S-VDR 5000 is a Simplified Voyage Data Recorder (S-VDR) that leverages the company’s years of proven experience interfacing with existing bridge and navigational sensors.
S-VDR 5000 includes 2GB of storage in the hardened capsule and an 80GB hard drive in the processor. It can support up to six microphones with waterproof microphones as an option.
The S-VDR 5000 is type approved by Bundesamt fϋr Seeschiffahrt & Hydrographie (BSH).
ECPINS® / S-VDR 5000
The ECPINS/S-VDR 5000 is a powerful, fully integrated ECDIS and Simplified Voyage Data Recorder system combining the recording capabilities of an S-VDR (S-VDR 5000) with the operational efficiency and accident prevention capabilities of ECDIS (ECPINS 5000).
This integration results in ECDIS screenshots being recorded every few seconds alongside the required S-VDR data.
The added benefit of ECDIS not only adds a further dimension to accident investigations, but also makes the S-VDR playback a powerful training tool for analyzing best navigation practices. Shipping companies can now take advantage of the experience of a Master who successfully navigates a tough passage by replaying the audio, sensor data and detailed ECDIS information.
Compliance
ECPINS® 5000 is an IMO Approved ECDIS used by customers worldwide and recognized for its highly differentiated features
The S-VDR 5000 is is type approved by Bundesamt fϋr Seeschiffahrt & Hydrographie (BSH)
Return on Investment
ECDIS systems have proven that navigational errors resulting in accidents/incidents are greatly reduced and could reduce the risk by 36% with a cost benefit of $175,000 to $396,000. (Source: 2006 DNV Formal Safety Assessment report)
ECDIS systems have reduced business interruptions due to weather or other factors that could impede the progress of a voyage
Advanced voyage planning features could reduce fuel costs up to 2%
The playback of ECDIS data creates a powerful training, simulation and analytical tool
Lower installation costs
Playback Feature
Easy access to recorded voyage data onboard or from remote location using external computer
Enables replay of radar video, audio, sensor data and ECPINS screens
The advanced analysis is a great tool for investigative, vessel efficiency assessment, training, validation of navigation best practices, and crew response and competency assessment
