The Common Operational Picture (COP) product line is a Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) solution supporting air, land and sea command, control, communications and intelligence (C3I) systems for strategic, operational and tactical applications. The product line provides a sensor-oriented, high-performance display of geospatial and tactical data in a common operational picture. It is a collection of client server applications, with map, image and tactical display capabilities.
The COP product line addresses the top issues facing global C3I programs by providing a common operational picture for situational awareness and interoperability among military forces and coalitions. COP products enable the sharing of geospatial and tactical data across traditional joint coalition force boundaries. They reduce risk and support network-centric warfare by eliminating traditional stovepipes between systems and applications among diverse users, as well as building a bridge between critical navigation systems and operational command and control systems.
Military forces, government agencies, systems integrators, defence contractors – any organization that requires a dynamic, high-resolution display of geospatial data – will find in the COP product line a proven and versatile engine with which to work. An open Application Programmer Interface (API) facilitates integration with existing systems and the development of custom applications. Typical applications include situational awareness, command and control, mission planning, mobile asset management, geo-location of tactical data, as well as coalition force and joint operations.
COP products are a collection of client server applications and engineering services that provide:
- Wide variety of spatial data formats and tactical data sources (sensors, land maps, nautical charts, photo imagery, special military information) layer into one seamless image display, strengthening a user’s analytical and decision-making ability.
- Accurate, rapid and seamless display of mapping, imagery and tactical data.
- Simultaneously integrates across multiple client applications.
- Enhances geographic situational awareness, collaboration and force interoperability.
- Enables all applications to share geospatial data in near real-time.
- Operates simultaneously with different applications and with several users of each application.
- Servers that work on Windows and Linux.
- Rapidly integrate and develop software tools.
- Reduce risk through the provision of accurate and timely information directly to the warfighter
