OSI awarded $450,000 in additional contracts with Portuguese Navy

Vancouver, Canada
— Offshore Systems International Ltd. (TSX: OSI/ OTCBB: OFSYF) has been awarded a contract to outfit the Portuguese Navy’s top MEKO class frigates with its warship-version electronic navigation system (‘WECDIS’). OSI was also awarded a second contract for a hardware upgrade to the approximately 30 standard electronic navigation systems delivered under the initial contract in November 2004. The two contracts are valued at approximately $450,000.

“This new contract is a good example of follow-on orders we receive from existing customers,” said John Jacobson, President and CEO. “In our experience, new orders from current customers can add up over time to substantial revenue streams. The original contract for the Portuguese Navy included basic commercial ECDIS systems, both hardware and software. These contracts upgrade the Portuguese Navy’s capability to our most sophisticated military system for some of their ships, and to upgraded hardware for the rest.”

With partner and prime contractor SICOM – Sistemas de Communições, Lda – OSI is currently fleet supplier to the Portuguese Navy for electronic chart navigation systems.
