OSI's world-leading software drives Royal Navy's electronic chart system; "WECDIS" recognized by the RN and other NATO allies as the most advanced navigation system globally

Vancouver, Canada
-- Offshore Systems International Ltd.'s (TSX: OSI/ OTCBB: OFSYF) software is the power behind the electronic chart navigation system that is transforming shipboard navigation for the Royal Navy since the days of Lord Nelson.

Recognized by the Royal Navy as "the world's most advanced electronic chart system," it is being installed on a broad range of submarine and surface vessels across the Royal Navy fleet, and the navies of Australia, Canada, Denmark, Portugal and New Zealand. OSI's ECPINS® (Electronic Chart Precise Integrated Navigation System) product is also the system and software of choice for the US Coast Guard, Canadian Coast Guard and Teekay Shipping.

"The Royal Navy is a pivotal customer for OSI," said John Jacobson, President and CEO. "At this special event honouring Admiral Lord Nelson and celebrating the Royal Navy's history and achievements, we want to congratulate them for their significant contribution; they truly are a leading maritime force globally."

Jacobson said the Royal Navy has been instrumental in OSI's development of "WECDIS" software, which is its most advanced system for warships, and along with WECDIS prime contractor Lockheed Martin UK, the WECDIS team is pioneering highly specialized applications for submarines. "Since they became a customer in January 2004, the Royal Navy have moved rapidly to equip their fleet with the latest navigation technology globally," said Jacobson. "They have helped raise the bar in electronic chart navigation software, and we've been pleased to partner with Lockheed Martin to provide the Royal Navy with increasingly sophisticated functionality for their requirements."

Jacobson applauded the Navy for their foresight, as most navies around the world are just beginning the conversion from traditional paper charts to electronic chart navigation. "As the Royal Navy recognizes, WECDIS is a revolutionary step forward, completely transforming navigation capability. We look forward as fleet supplier with our partners to continuing our long-term relationship with the Royal Navy to support their modernization."
