OSI awarded $1.6 million in contracts by Lockheed Martin UK for UK Royal Navy

Vancouver, Canada — Offshore Systems International Ltd (OSI) (TSX: OSI / OTCBB: OFSYF) announced today that Lockheed Martin, one of the Company’s teaming partners in the UK, has awarded OSI contracts valued at approximately CDN$1.6 million for software upgrades and systems related to the Royal Navy’s deployment of OSI’s ECPINS-M, a highly advanced electronic chart navigation system for military customers.

“These follow-on contracts clearly demonstrate the progress and success OSI and the Lockheed team have had to date with meeting the Royal Navy’s requirements,” said John Jacobson, President and CEO of OSI. “OSI has met its early contract milestones on this program, we’ve delivered a high-quality product and we are optimistic that we can build on our early success to broaden and deepen our relationship with both Lockheed Martin and the Royal Navy.”

The largest of the two contracts is for software upgrades to enhance the Royal Navy’s electronic chart system software capabilities for submarine and surface navigation, adding functions which were options under the Royal Navy fleet contract announced in January 2004. In addition, OSI will supply new systems and software for the initial deployment of the Automated Identification System for the Royal Navy. The Automated Identification System is a transponder-based tracking system that tracks ships using a radio network and Global Positioning System data. It is a safety system, primarily for civilian vessels, that improves vessel safety in crowded waterways and ports.
