OSI's COP-IDS™ to be used in Joint Warrior Interoperability Demonstration

Vancouver, Canada -- Offshore Systems International Ltd (OSI) (TSX: OSI / OTCBB: OFSYF) announced today that the Canadian Department of National Defence has invited the company to demonstrate the company's newest product, COP-IDS, as part of the Joint Warrior Interoperability Demonstration ("JWID") event hosted by the U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

JWID is an annual event that enables U.S. combatant commands and the international community to investigate command and control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance ("C4ISR") solutions in a simulated war-fighting environment. Coalition participants include Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and other NATO members. Coalition partners like Canada conduct their own interoperability trials and assessments at operating sites around the world, and exchange information with other commands across multiple domains.

This year's event will take place during June and the theme is "Forging New Coalitions", featuring interoperability and collaboration on network-centric warfare. COP-IDS™ will provide the server platform which extracts simulation data regarding location and movement of Canadian forces, allies, threats and non-combatants, combines it with current land and marine mapping data, and distributes a network-based Common Operational Picture ("COP") to end users and other demonstrating application providers.

"We are very proud to become a part of Canada's efforts at JWID," said John Jacobson, Chief Executive Officer of OSI. "The feedback from other technology providers who integrate with COP-IDS™, and from the end users who see our common operational picture, will be important as we refine the technology and pursue new applications within military command and control."

"JWID provides countries such as Canada with a dynamic opportunity to trial and test new and emerging C4ISR technologies like COP-IDS™ using a realistic, real-time war fighting scenario," said Canadian JWID national lead Major R.E. Kearney of the Canadian Forces Experimentation Centre. "These products receive unparalleled exposure to our own forces and command as we develop solutions to interoperability problems nationally, and also with Canada's principal allies who experience similar concerns and are seeking to dramatically improve situational awareness and safety for all forces."

The 2004 event will welcome new JWID partners including the U.S. National Guard Bureau, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard and Canadian Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.
